The anti-goblin curation policy
How We Choose
We want the joke to be ours and the product identity to be real. That means clear curation rules, no invented prices, no fake testing claims and no pretending an affiliate relationship does not exist.
Our curation rules
- Start with a real use case. A bowl should solve a serving problem. A microwave cooker should solve a convenience problem. A novelty gift should still have a job after the laugh.
- Keep the actual product name visible. Our funny names never replace the retailer's actual listing identity.
- Do not publish fake live pricing. Amazon controls current price, stock, shipping and availability, so we send shoppers there for those details.
- Do not claim hands-on testing we did not perform. These are curated recommendations unless a page explicitly says otherwise.
- Separate shopping intent. Ramen gifts, ramen accessories, pho gifts and dorm picks live on different pages because the person searching those terms is solving a different problem.
- Label paid links. Amazon links are marked as sponsored/paid and the site carries the required Amazon Associate disclosure.
- Use performance data to improve navigation, not invent claims. Analytics can tell us which guides and product links people use; it does not turn a click into a product review.
Do commissions decide the picks?
No. Commission eligibility can affect whether a link earns money, but the page should still make sense if the commission disappeared tomorrow. We prioritize fit with the page, usefulness, clarity and giftability.
Where do the product details come from?
The visible actual product names and destination links identify the listings we are curating. Product details can change, so shoppers should confirm material, dimensions, compatibility, ingredients, allergens, safety information and current availability on the retailer's product page.
